As a Christ-centered organization, the Welborn partners with Christian organizations whose vision, mission, and values are firmly grounded in Christian principles and teachings. These organizations seek to serve others while reflecting the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Place-based
Initiatives that are geographically defined, engage and empower communities, employ collaborative strategies, and aim for systemic change.
People-focused
Initiatives focused on equipping and empowering individuals and families with the resources and skills they need to flourish.
Missional Movement
Initiatives focused on educating, equipping, and mobilizing the Church (local churches, Christ-centered nonprofits, individual Christ-followers) into the community to demonstrate and proclaim the gospel.

Our grant cycles operate on a two year rhythm. Every other year, we invite trusted partners to submit applications that align with the priorities we have committed to. What is "Place-Based"?
Place-based work is about people in a given place working together for sustainable, long-term transformation. Place-based initiatives focus on specific neighborhoods, deeply engaging local voices, culture, challenges, and opportunities to design solutions that truly fit that place.
