As we reflect on the remarkable work of our region’s nonprofits, it’s evident that these organizations are the unsung heroes of our community, tirelessly serving those in need across various sectors and audiences. Their impact, fueled by program fees and private donations, is profound yet often overlooked.
Over the past months, Welborn Baptist Foundation has engaged with nonprofits throughout the Greater Evansville region to assess their strengths and areas for growth. The findings of these interactions are summarized in this report.
Two key points emerge from this report:
- These organizations need our collective support. Despite being led by dedicated individuals with a strong sense of service and mission, nonprofits require increasing community involvement in terms of volunteering, donations, and governance.
- We need their expertise. A thriving nonprofit sector is pivotal to our community’s prosperity, often serving as a silent catalyst for overall growth and inclusivity. Supporting nonprofits is not just about giving back, it’s an investment in a community that thrives for all.
I urge you to consider the unique role you can play in supporting our nonprofits and the individuals they serve. Your involvement can make a significant difference in building a more vibrant and equitable community for everyone. Consider identifying a cause that resonates with you and become actively engaged.
Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to making our community a better place for all.
Gratefully,
