The Greater Evansville Health Survey report

The Greater Evansville Health Survey report

Since 2008, Welborn has invested in regional health surveys to provide clear, reliable data that raises awareness, helps focus attention where it is most needed, and supports informed decision-making. This 2026 edition of the Greater Evansville Health Survey report continues this effort with data collected in 2025.  This latest report provides a sense of how overall health and access to healthcare have changed since the 2021 edition.

There are improvements to celebrate with an increase in the number of physically active adults and a decrease in risky behaviors, but more work is needed to address chronic diseases, mental health, and access to healthcare and healthy foods – all especially true for low-income households. Many conditions are preventable or manageable when everyone has access to early detection and healthier choices supported by systems and environments.

I encourage you to do what you can to support your own good health and the health of those you care about. Stay current on ever-changing local, state, and national health policies and learn about evidence-based interventions from trusted sources such as Healthy People 2030 and County Health Rankings & Roadmaps.

Use the data to support health in whatever ways you can – let it motivate you to be more physically active, strengthen a grant application, or support a community collaboration. Together, we can create the momentum to build healthier communities and a flourishing region.
