New Digital Credentialing Opportunities With Welborn
Welborn is expanding its partnership with global digital credentialing leader Credly to provide verified digital badges for participants in several of its flagship leadership and governance development programs, further strengthening the region’s nonprofit workforce and community leadership pipeline.
Participants who complete Board Champions 101, Board Champions 201, Fundamentals of Nonprofit Management and the Next Generation Leadership Academy are now eligible to earn industry-recognized digital credentials that validate their learning, leadership development, and commitment to community impact. Issued through Credly, these digital badges offer a transparent and verifiable way for participants to showcase their skills and accomplishments.
The initiative reflects Welborn’s ongoing commitment to investing in people, organizations, and systems that contribute to a thriving and resilient region.
Digital badges can be shared on LinkedIn profiles, websites, resumes, and email signatures, helping participants highlight their professional development and leadership achievements. The credentials also provide organizations and employers with additional confidence in the skills and capabilities of individuals who have completed Welborn-supported learning experiences.
In addition to new program graduates, Welborn is offering eligible past participants the opportunity to receive badges retroactively. Individuals who have previously completed one of these programs and would like to claim their credential are encouraged to contact Meghan Craven at [email protected] for assistance.
Eligible programs include:
- Board Champions 101 – foundational training for current and aspiring nonprofit board members
- Board Champions 201 – advanced governance and board leadership development
- Fundamentals of Nonprofit Management – designed to assist participants’ understanding in the foundational components of a nonprofit
- Next Generation Leadership Academy – a customized certificate based, executive-level education partnership with the IU O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs for new Executive Directors and next-generation leaders. This series focuses on competency development in leading a nonprofit, equipping leaders with the skills, relationships and perspectives needed to strengthen their organizations and communities
By incorporating credentialing into its leadership and board development offerings, Welborn continues to align community-focused professional development with nationally recognized workforce practices-helping strengthen leadership capacity, increase accountability, and support long-term community impact throughout the region.
