Introducing the Newest Members to the Welborn Team
If you’ve been connected with us over the last few years, you’ve likely noticed – Welborn has continued to grow and evolve.
We’d like to share some exciting updates and introduce some of the incredible new people who’ve recently joined our team.
As many of you know, our greatest asset has always been our people.
With the recent retirements of longtime team members Patrick Jackson and Liz Tharp in late 2024, we were given a valuable opportunity to reflect on their remarkable legacies and consider how best to build on the foundation they helped establish. We’re committed to strengthening our team and deepening our impact, and that’s exactly what we’ve set out to do.
We’d like to introduce you to the newest members of the Welborn family:
First, in April, we welcomed Tyler Stock. Tyler is wearing a few hats here—he’s our Early Learning Program Officer, Grow Program Director, and Learning and Data Lead. With experience in both the banking and nonprofit sectors, Tyler brings a real passion for advancing educational outcomes and a talent for harnessing the power of data to inform our work. Tyler collaborates closely with all of the Welborn team as he reports to Andrea Hays, Chief Program and Impact Officer.
Next, in early June, Sam Voss joined us fresh from his graduation at Taylor University, where he studied Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics. Thanks to the Orr Fellowship program, Sam has relocated from Muncie to Evansville to dedicate himself to our mission. He’s jumped right in as our Marketing and Communications Specialist, working with and reporting to our Communications Officer, Jeff Seymore.
We also recently welcomed Mardi File as our Healthy Communities Program Officer. Many of you may already know Mardi—she’s no stranger to Welborn or to the nonprofit sector, having spent the past 25 years working to build strong, lasting partnerships for community change. She’ll be reporting to Andrea as well.
And last, but certainly not least, I’m thrilled to announce that Kathy Ettensohn has joined our team as Endowment Advancement Officer. After a distinguished 40-year career in public accounting and serving seven years on our Board, Kathy is uniquely positioned to help us grow our endowment so we can invest even more in our partnerships and community. She’ll be working with estate planners and individuals who share our vision to make a lasting impact—ensuring that together, we can grow the good we do for years to come.
This is truly an exciting time for Welborn. We’re entering a season of growth, learning, and renewed commitment to our mission. We look forward to partnering with you as we continue to Cultivate Communities that Flourish.
Thank you for your continued support, your partnership, and your belief in the work we do together.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Together, there’s no limit to what we can accomplish.
